Lucky Bastard!

“James May at the Edge of Space,” where he trains for and rides in a U-2 to 70,000 feet, is now available for free streaming with Amazon Prime, or $1.99 to purchase.

Nothing special for our UK friends, but some of these have been difficult / impossible to find in the U.S.

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

I’m still looking for a high-quality version of “James May on the Moon,” which actually has some different footage of the flight.

Edit: If anyone has a spare ticket for a U-2 ride...

I’d love to watch this again. One part that sticks in my mind is the clip where they’re filming from the chase GTO, and the U-2 comes down into the frame with “Kashmir” playing. It’s just spine tingling. I saw that GTO on several occasions, they used to bring it out to pace the Thunderhill 25 Hour for years, the base is fairly nearby.

There’s so much that’s great about the video...but the chase scene with the GTO isn’t in this one unfortunately. I think that’s one of the pieces that’s in James May on the Moon, which would be even cooler to find.
